Finish Line

Mary's guts n' glory last leg was a thing of beauty. When she finished the race, she was asked "I hear you are thinking about an ultra Ragnar next year".
In between dry heaves she said "heck yes we are".

I tip my sweaty hat to the RAGNAR spirit of my team!

> One of the relay exchanges was at an operational dairy. Smelled like home to the country folk in Van 2. Our last runner in the second leg has just started. Hopefully sleep comes soon.

Van #2 is almost done!!!

Tres just ran into Exchange 34 after a sunny little run along the Potomac and through the concrete jungle of GW Parkway, 110, 50, Army-Navy Drive and the rest of the highway mess in Arlington!!!

Nathan is off for his final leg...as soon as he picks up the 'baton'...c'mon boys...you've had 2 successful handoffs...what are you doing dropping the bracelet on #3???

Wait...I guess 34 legs of cumulative team sweat is a valid excuse...yep...this race is gettin RAGNARLY!!!

Run on!!!

She's just celebrating 15 years...

Meanwhile, TBR is celebrating completing 34 legs!!!

Yep...there was a crowd taking quinciera pictures just steps away from Exchange 34 in Crystal City...

Mary is about to get started with her second leg...

Van #2 is ready to wrap this up and go get some SLEEP!!!

there's no "I" in Ragnar!

On leg 19 as I ran under full moon and with smell of cow pasture wafting across the road, I was reminded of how many great people make up the Ragnar experience.
- Captain Jimmy woke us up after a restful 42 minute nap in order to get me to the start on time
- Van 1 laid down a blazing 4 hour set and inspired me to throw down at 12:45am.
- Colin and Bill from teams unknown paced alongside me for awhile, extra helpful in the creepy, pitch black country roads
- my awesome van stopped for a dance party in the middle of a killer hill. Tres kept me hydrated in between staying alert enough to drive.
- the good folks at the Creamery provided some mint chocolatey goodness as i finished.
Manyyyyy thanks to each and every one of you!
It hurts more than before, but still so good. EW

Transition #8, Van #2

Pam tore up transition #8--James takes over!

ragnar-ly leg!

I think it was the moment when a gnat flew up my nose and I spit it out a second later that I knew this was no ordinary race.... nearly 95degrees as I climbed 1100 ft through forest and farm. Once I ran by a house with a swing on the front porch. I almost stopped for a nap, but decided to run past the guy in front of me instead as he was walking up a hill. Because pride feels better than well- rested legs, and victory tastes sweeter than arctic blue gatorade. It hurts so good. EW
